Renowned Wolverhampton singer/songwriter Ben Drummond has been hailed as a star of the future after being championed by one of the USA?s most renowned record producers. He was chosen as the Vodafone/Myspace ?Ones to Watch? artist by Ryan Tedder, lead singer of USA supergroup The One Republic.

Describing Drummond as a ?true artist?, the writer and producer, who has worked with a galaxy of stars including Timbaland, Rihanna and Leona Lewis, said: ?After listening to all the finalists, Ben jumped out as my favourite for several reasons. Ben is a true artist. He has a great vocal range, cool lyrics, very unique sound and plays sitar, which is a bonus.?

The Midland musician, who hosts monthly acoustic music sessions for the country?s hottest new musical talents at The Jam House, Birmingham, said he was thrilled to have had his work recognised. ?It is a real honour to have my work acknowledged in this way, especially from someone like Ryan Tedder?, said Ben.

Music fans can hear Ben?s unique mix of alternative, rock, Nu-soul and flamenco at the next acoustic session at the live music venue in St Paul?s Square on Tuesday 25 May, when he will perform his own material. Subsequent acoustic sessions will take place on the last Tuesday of every month.

John Bunce, Operations Manager of The Jam House, said: ?Ben is an incredibly talented young artist and the monthly acoustic sessions offer a great opportunity to watch him perform, as well as see him introduce some of the best up and coming singer songwriters in the country.?
