COMMUNITY ASSET TRANSFER OPPORTUNITY: bespoke mobile participatory arts unit

Third sector organisations are invited to submit Expressions of Interest in undertaking a Community Asset Transfer for a bespoke mobile participatory arts unit.

The Council would like this vehicle to be transferred for the purpose of delivering community arts activities and other cultural services which meet local needs.

The Mobile participatory arts unit provision was developed to increase participation and engagement and overcome barriers of transport, isolation and cultural difference.

The mobile participatory arts unit will only be transferred to a not-for-profit organisation/group for the purposes of enabling Birmingham residents to have the opportunity to experience high quality arts and cultural provision as audience members, participants, creators and leaders.

Unit Set-up Options

The closing date for receipt of expressions of interest is Wednesday 20th April 2016.

Please note;

- There will be opportunity to view the mobile participatory arts unit during the week commencing 18th April 2016 at the current storage site in Telford.

- The Mobile unit is transferred "as seen". The Council makes no representations and gives no warranties as to the quality, condition, state or description of the mobile unit, or its fitness or suitability for any purpose.

- The risk of damage to or loss of the mobile unit shall pass to the Buyer on completion of the asset transfer.

- The completion of the asset transfer and collection of the mobile unit will need to take place by the end of April 2016.

- There is no longer a budget to support this activity and Birmingham City Council cannot fund the maintenance, storage or running costs of the unit in any capacity following asset transfer

- Final recommendation to transfer subject to approval by (appropriate committee/cabinet)
