The Birmingham Black International Film Festival (BIF FESTIVAL) is calling for all film submissions for this year?s festival, due to take place in Birmingham on 25-31 October 2010, with the chance of a shortlist place at this year?s Awards ceremony!

The BIF FESTIVAL is a film festival with a difference! Incorporating Music, ?Live?Arts and Education, it provides platforms for practitioners and artistes to express themselves, thus facilitating the culturally diverse emerging identities in the community through new and challenging ways.

The FESTIVAL comprises five core elements: Film Screening, Music Events, Performance Events, Educational Events, and the Awards Programme. Short Films, First Features, Documentaries and Music Videos are eligible.

Submissions are not exclusive to people of colour, but must either feature people of colour, address Black issues, be produced by people of colour, or have significant involvement in the film production by people of colour.

BIF FESTIVAL is seeking films from all European countries (including all former Eastern European countries), Worldwide, and of course UK and Ireland, where they will be screened throughout the festival, and the festival associated visual platforms.

All selected films for inclusion in the festival will also be entered into our awards programme selection for a possible MVSA nomination and awards, which will be honoured at the reputable Music, Video & Screen Awards (M-Visas), taking place at the prestigious ICC Birmingham on Saturday 30 October 2010.
